1- Correct way to use your facewash:
When you are washing your face with your favorite facewash make sure that you gently rub it for at least 1-2 min to get the full benefit like Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid and maybe Vitamin C also rub it on the skin for 1-2 min in sure that you get all the dust, the dead cells, the oil, the bacteria and any reside of makeup or product that you have used at previous stage.
2- Choosing moisturizer for the face:
Even if you feel your skin is very dry, try not to use a very intensive moisture like a cold cream on your face because cold cream will only increase dullness of the skin. It will prevent exfoliation and it can lead the overgrowth of yeast and bacteria on the skin. So only use light moisturizers which are gel or moisturizer based.
3-Use sunscreen daily:
We need sunscreen to protect our skin normally from the ultraviolet light and also from visible light. So that’s why it is important to use sunscreen not only when we are outdoors also indoors. It prevents skin cancer, pigmentation and skin aging.
4- Remove makeup before sleeping:
It is Essential to remove makeup before sleep. Use a good foaming facewash to wash it and remaining traces can be removed with the help of Micellar water. Avoid using cleansing milk, oil to remove makeup and as being greasy they can encourage yeast overgrowth on the skin and prevent exfoliation in the long run
5- Using Serums Correctly:
If your skin care routine contains retinol and vitamin C serum. It is better to use them at separate times. So retinol is better use at night and vitamin C can be use in the morning or if you want use them at the same time then at least half an hour gap between the two.
6- Using anti acne gels correctly:
For treating acne if you’re using gels containing retinoid and benzoyl peroxide, make sure you use pea-size amount for the entire face. If you use a lot, the acne will not go away faster, it will only make your skin sensitive, red and dry.
7- Oiling for flakes in the scalp:
Many people think that flakes in the scalp are into dryness oiling the scalp will solve the problem. Flakes are a sign of the yeast overgrowth or scalp disorder which needs to be appropriately treated. Oiling is not going to solve the problem it will only mask the flakes temporarily and sometimes it may even make the condition worse.
8- Exfoliating skin correctly:
Not Exfoliating your skin regularly or over exfoliating on the other hand are both harmful for your skin. For exfoliation it is not recommended to use physical exfoliators containing irregular particles. It is best to use gentle chemical exfoliators containing AHA and BHA 2-3 times a week.
9- Use correct products for under eyes:
Do not use your face skin care products for the under eye area because it may not just irritate the skin also not give the desired benefits. Under eye skin is thinner and more delicate. Its needs are also unique. To address concerns in this area always look for products specially made for the under eye skin.
10- Follow skin care routine customized to your skin:
Raw skin is unique and so in the environment that you live in. So your skin care routine also needs to be customized to your concerns. Do not use what your friend has been using or somebody recommending on the social media because what worked for them may not work for you. So always get your skin analyzed by dermatologist and follow the recommended skin routine for the best results.
